One Day Design Workshop for Students:
VCE students - 19th August
Year 9 & 10 - 20th August
Our ‘Sustainable Future of Textiles’ program will focus on women in STEAM careers and textiles creation and use. The day will commence with a panel of the 3 designers sharing their career story and engaging in a Q & A with teachers and students. This will be followed by the opportunity to participate in one of 3 different hands-on workshops facilitated by our artists.
Our Industry Guests
- Anzara Clark is a Ballarat based multidisciplinary artist and designer who combines traditional craft and contemporary experimental approaches, exploring and stretching the limits and intersections of paper and fibre manipulation, textile processes and paper textiles.
- Nat Verrocchi is a Circular Design Practitioner and Design Futures Researcher. She is an advocate for Sustainability and founder of Eco Artisan & Neo3DT. She has worked in the fashion industry and now specialises in human centred and transition design.
- Simone Agius is a fashion designer for Mimco and has started her own label Simetrie. She makes artisan leather bags and accessories, and is involved with a special project with the NGV exploring the use of vermin waste in fashion.
