After School Clubs
After School clubs provide extra opportunities for students to engage with the Tech School outside of school organised programs. Learn new skills, meet new people and build on projects started during other events on site.

Schools on Air
Join the Schools on Air Afterschool Club, where you’ll become part of a real radio production team! Each week, students from different schools collaborate in small groups to write and develop their own radio segments—whether it’s music reviews, interviews, current events, or creative storytelling.
Once the scripts are ready, it’s time to hit the studio! Students record live-to-tape in a professional broadcast environment, learning the ins and outs of radio production, voice techniques, and audio editing. The final result? A one-hour radio show that airs live each week on SYN Radio 90.7 FM, sharing your voice with listeners across Melbourne.
No experience? No problem! Our team will guide you through the process, helping you develop media skills, confidence, and creativity. If you love music and storytelling, or just want to try something new, this is your chance to get on the air!
In 2024, we also partnered with Triple J Unearthed to create Unearthed High After Class. Over six weeks, students from Banyule Nillumbik Tech School took over the Triple J Unearthed airwaves, showcasing the best uploads from Unearthed High contestants.

"Getting the privilege to do radio for Triple J Unearthed was amazing. Learning about the industry and connecting with young musicians was incredible. The industry experience is invaluable."

Security and Pickup:
Public access to the site continues to be restricted for child safety as with regular schools, as such you will be required to wait for your students outside the tech school. We understand that this may be an adjustment, but it is a necessary step to enhance the safety of all our students.
Should you need to contact the school while waiting, we have installed a buzzer intercom at the entrance. However, please be aware that due to our limited staff during afterschool hours, the intercom may not always be answered promptly. In such cases, you can reach us on the following numbers:
- Tech School Mobile: 0418 744 716
- Landline: 03 9269 1057
- Campus Security: 0428 709 209
Additionally, all visitors are now required to sign in and wear lanyards to distinguish those with Working with Children Checks. This increased visibility will help us identify who is on-site and further protect our students.
We appreciate your support and understanding as we implement these changes. Your feedback is invaluable to us as we continue to improve the overall experience at Banyule Nillumbik Tech School, ultimately ensuring the safety and security of your students.
